ADHD and Autism Right to Choose
What is Right to Choose?
Right to Choose (RTC) allows you to choose which NHS-approved provider you would like to be referred to for certain services, including ADHD and Autism assessments.
This means you are not limited to local services and may choose a private provider with shorter waiting times.
All providers listed below are NHS-funded under the Right to Choose pathway.
Where do I start?
1. Decide what you would like to be assessed for
- ADHD
- Autism

Previous Diagnosis – Important Information
Some providers do not accept patients who already have an existing diagnosis of ADHD or Autism.
Common reasons a diagnosis may not be accepted
A provider may not accept a previous diagnosis if:
- It was completed outside of the UK
- It was completed by a provider that does not meet their clinical standards
- It does not include a full diagnostic report
- It was completed a long time ago and requires updating
- Their service is designed for new (undiagnosed) patients only
What should you do if you already have a diagnosis?
- Check your chosen provider’s website carefully
- Confirm whether they accept your type of diagnosis
- Ensure you have a copy of your diagnostic report (if available)
If your diagnosis is not accepted, the provider may:
- Offer a reassessment
- Or advise choosing a different service
Providers more likely to accept previous diagnoses include:
- Psychiatry UK
- ADHD 360
- Problem Shared
- Clinical Partners
- RTN Mental Health Solutions
- Health Harmonie Minds
- Dr J & Colleagues
- Skylight Psychiatry
- Sinclair-Strong Consultants
- Psicon
We strongly recommend checking directly with your chosen provider before proceeding.
Providers Requiring Physical Health Checks
Some providers require recent physical health measurements before starting assessment or treatment.
This includes:
- Blood pressure
- Pulse
- Height and weight (BMI)
Providers that commonly require this:
- ADHD 360
- Health Harmonie Minds
- Innovate ADHD
- Sinclair-Strong Consultants
If you have chosen one of the above providers, we recommend obtaining these measurements before completing the referral form where possible. You can do this with your GP surgery, a pharmacy, or using a home monitor.

This form will be submitted to Richmond Road Medical Centre to help us process your referral to your chosen provider.
